Geraldine M O'Connor

Geraldine M. O’ Connor, 82 of Westfield, MA died Sunday March 8, 2020 peacefully, surrounded by her family at her side. Born in Greenfield, MA on November 21, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Gladys (Parda) Parody. She was predeceased by her beloved son Todd, her brothers Frank and David and is survived by her brother Gary and his wife Linda, and many nieces and nephews. She leaves her daughters Cheryl Johnson and Glenn Martin of York ME, Kimberly Dorsey and husband Charlie of Russell MA, her grandchildren Katie Johnson and Paul Rollins of York, ME, Lauren Johnson and Rick Wickson of Rye, NH, Anthony, His wife Emily and great grandchild Colby Dorsey, which she adored, from Southwick, MA Andrew and Chad Dorsey of Westfield. Gerry attended St. Mary’s school and graduated from Westfield High School and Western Mass School of Nursing. She worked as a Nurse before joining her family at the Mill End Fabric Store for many years. She then taught at Westfield Technical Academy in the Nursing program and The American Red Cross which she really enjoyed. Gerry spent her summers with her family in York ME where she could always be found walking the beach, cup in hand, bending over looking for the perfect seashells that she would eventually make into a craft. She loved to paint and the walls of our homes are filled with beautiful paintings. She also loved to cook and was ready to serve you as soon as you arrived. Gerry was a devoted Catholic, traveling to the Miracles of Medjugoorie for a trip of a lifetime. She was a member of St. Mary’s Parish, The Confraternity of the Most Holy Rosary, she taught First Communion Class at St. Mary’s for 20 years and volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul. She was a wonderful, caring and loving Mother, Grandmother and friend that loved to sit and share stories of your life and hers especially with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed always.
