Gerard J. Sokop of Westfield, passed away on May 30, 2022, at the age of 79. Jerry, as referred to by friends and family, was born on March 29, 1943, in Pittsfield, MA. Jerry, the child of Henry and Jane (Maloney) Sokop, is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia (Labato) Sokop, his children Matthew, Jeremy and Judy, along with his seven grandchildren Amna, Alina, Omer, Klara, Jeremy, Jr. and Keira. Jerry is also survived by his brothers Larry and Tom and sisters Pat Babineau and Margaret Winslow. He was predeceased by his youngest sibling Peter. Jerry graduated St. Joseph’s High School, class of 1961, and went on to receive his degree in Pharmacy from UCONN. A long time resident of Hatfield, MA, Jerry served the Easthampton community as the owner of Bolduc’s Pharmacy. Jerry sold his business, but continued as a pharmacist at local pharmacies and was a long time member of the MA Pharmacists Assoc. Jerry also served in the mechanized infantry of the MA National Guard. Services will be held on June 18, 2022 (10:00am) at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Westfield, followed by burial in St. Mary’s cemetery in Northampton. The Firtion-Adams Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
