Gloria J. (Hitchcock) Hunter

Gloria J. Hunter, 79, passed away peacefully on Friday May 9, 2025 surrounded by her beloved family. She was born in Caribou Maine on January 13th, 1946 to the late Wilson and Emma (Ottingalo) Hitchcock.  She graduated from Caribou High School in 1964, then attended and completed Nursing school, working as a nurse until becoming a devoted stay at home mom in 1981. She was an avid gardener and had the greenest of green thumbs. She also enjoyed painting, baking and camping.  Gloria was predeceased by her beloved husband Gregory A. Hunter of 46 years in 2014 and her sister Linda Mae (Hitchcock) King in 2017. In loving memory, she leaves behind her sons Scott and wife Stephanie of Blandford, MA and Christopher and wife Chiara of Westfield, MA and her daughter Amy Hunter of Homer, LA.  She also leaves her grandchildren Alexis, Madison, Colton, Zoey and Kylee, along with her brothers Lewis and wife Cindy Hitchcock of Gardner, NC and Wilson and wife Cindy Hitchcock of West Alexandria, OH and brother-in-law Gene King of Taylor, PA.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial for Gloria will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025 at 11:00 AM in St. Peter’s/ St. Casmir's Parish, Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Calling hours will precede the mass from 8:30 – 10:30 AM in Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield.
