Gloria Root Obituary

Gloria M. (Benda) Root, 90, a lifelong resident of Westfield, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at Cooley Dickinson Hospital in Northampton. She was born in Westfield, MA to the late Frederick and Hazel (Paine) Benda and attended local schools. She worked for many years at Old Colony Envelope and was a member of Second Congregational Church. In her early years, she enjoyed crocheting and sewing and later in her life loved playing Bingo and doing word search puzzles. Sadly, Gloria was predeceased by her husband David Root and a daughter Doreen Root, both in 1998. She is survived by her children, James Root of Russell and Cindy Woodard of Easthampton, her sister Hazel Elliott of Alabama, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. All services are private and burial was held in Pine Hill Cemetery. WWW.firtionadams.com.
