Gordon F Snyder, Sr.

Gordon F. Snyder, Sr., 94, passed away on Friday, December 26, 2025 at the Jewish Nursing Home in Longmeadow surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Westfield to the late Frank and Emily (Schultz) Snyder and was a 1948 graduate of Westfield Trade. Gordon served his country in the United States Army during Korea and he attained the rank of Corporal and received the Occupation medal (Japan), Korean Service Medal and the UN Medal. Gordon was employed as a repairman for AT&T for 33 years and he retired in 1984. Gordon was a lifelong resident of Westfield and was a member of the VFW Post 1847, Chosin Few Army Chapter, the Telephone Pioneers and the NRA. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Florence (Genovese) Snyder; his children Gordon F. Snyder, Jr. and wife Diane of South Hadley, Michael J. Snyder and wife Lora of Eastham, John E. Snyder and wife Sally of Naples, FL, and Jane E. Weyant and husband Frank of Wilbraham; grandchildren Jack, Gabby, Rachel, Christopher, Eva, and Kate; and great-grandson Luke. All services will be private and he will be buried with Military Honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial cemetery, Agawam.
