Henry W. Mikucki, passed away on April 25, 2026. Born to the late Virginia S. Forrish and Henry W. Mikucki on July 23, 1949. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Springfield Power Squadron, its secretary, and taught boating courses including navigation. He was also a hiker and a skier. He graduated Westfield High School in 1967 was a Bronze Tablet Nominee in the dramatic and Latin club, plays and speech and drama festivals. He began working part time at Big Y Foods his senior year of high school, putting himself through Westfield State College, where he was on the dramatic club, graduating with honors in 1971. Continuing to work part time with Big Y Foods, he pursued other interests for about three years, then rejoining Big Y Foods full time, working several departments and store locations. From about 1984-1989 he worked at the former Western Beef, Inc, after which he returned to Big Y Foods, working in seafood, eventually becoming a seafood sales manager including 1999-2008 and after reorganization, a seafood specialist and meat and seafood specialist. He semi-retired in February of 2015, continuing working part-time into 2026 and after a leave, fully retired in March of 2026. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brother. He is survived by his sister, cousins and good friends. Service will be on Monday, May 4, 2026, will calling hour from 10:00-11:00, funeral at 11:00 at Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd.
