Henry Monczko, 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 28, 2026 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Suwalki, Poland to the late Franz and Eva (Klimah) Monczko. Henry immigrated from Germany to the United States in 1952 to Chicago, he then married his wife Helen (Wroblewski) Monczko and started a family. In 1968 they moved to Westfield to be near Helen’s family and the ocean so he could pursue his love of deep-sea fishing. Henry proudly became a US citizen in 1976 and worked for Daniel O’Connor and Son Construction Co. for many years as a builder and carpenter and was a union carpenter of Local 336. He was a member of the Pioneer Valley Boat and Surf Club, volunteered at Ameila Park, St. John’s Lutheran Church and was the Superintendent at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery. Henry enjoyed traveling to the Caribbean, especially St. Croix and Aruba, Europe, Hawaii and Alaska. He loved deep sea fishing, Oktoberfest, day and short trips with the Travel Group and maintained everything, his home, his church, the cemetery, and was always there to help family and friends. Henry was predeceased by his beloved wife Helen (Wroblewski) Monczko and his brother Emil Monczko. Henry is survived by his three loving daughters, Arlene S. Faucher and her husband Norm, Christine E. Monczko, and Sharon A. Morgan and her husband Joe and his dear friend Andrea H. Scully. A Funeral Home Service for Henry will be held on Tuesday, April 7, 2026 at 12 noon in Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by burial in St. Johns Lutheran Cemetery, Lockhouse Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will precede the service from 10:30AM -12PM in the funeral home. Henry’s family would like to thank Dr. Mohammed Ibrahim and the nurses at Baystate Medical Center for their kindness and care of Henry during his illness.
