Ida (Dawson) Jacobs

Ida (Dawson) Jacobs, 92, of Westfield, passed away peacefully on October 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Born on August 31, 1933, in Bluefield, West Virginia, she was the daughter of the late James and Virginia (Asbury) Pennington.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Roger C. Jacobs, and will be lovingly remembered by her children: Linda Dawson-Hayes of Agawam, Retha Dawson of South Carolina, Wilburn Dawson Jr. of Westfield, Karl Dawson and his wife Gail of Chicopee, and Mark Dawson and his wife Laurie of Granby. She also leaves her cherished sister, Mary L. Smith of Westfield, Brother Perry Pennington of Connecticut and her grandchildren: Johanna Steinboch, Grant Dawson, Therese Dawson, Chelsi Dawson, Kailee Dawson, Brittany Dawson, Cassie Dawson, and Jennifer Hart.

Ida attended local schools and lived a life centered on family, home, and simple joys. She loved cooking, cleaning, doing puzzles, and spending time outdoors—pastimes that reflected her hardworking nature and warm heart.

Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Monday, October 20, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. A funeral home service will follow at 12:00 Noon, with burial to take place at Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield. www.firtionadams.com
