James Kriesak Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of James A Kriesak, who departed this life on December 5, 2025, at the age of 78. James was a cherished father, husband, and grandfather.

Born on July 11, 1947, in Westfield, Massachusetts, James was the beloved son of Frank and Lucille Kriesak. He grew up alongside his siblings, Peggy Musterait, William Kriesak, and Marilyn Nimerowski, forming bonds that lasted a lifetime.

James is survived by his devoted wife of 52 years, Yvonne Kriesak, and their four children: Kevin, David, John, and Susan. Susan lives in the Dallas, Texas, area with her husband, Joseph Mower, and their two children, Joseph and Alex. James was a proud grandfather and will be deeply missed by his entire family.

A lifelong resident of Westfield, James graduated from Westfield High School in 1965. He went on to serve honorably in the 104th Air National Guard stationed at Barnes Air Force Base for 20 years, demonstrating dedication and patriotism. Alongside his military service, James worked full-time at Old Colony Envelope Company, where he was known for his reliability and strong work ethic.

James had a passion for sports, especially the Springfield Indians and Boston Red Sox, and he delighted in sharing this enthusiasm with his children. He also loved amusement parks and the beach, frequently visiting Mountain Park, Riverside/Six Flags, and Misquamicut Beach to enjoy roller coasters and ocean waves. These joyful experiences became treasured family adventures.

James will also be remembered for being the strong silent type, who enjoyed his coffee and cigarettes almost as much as he enjoyed spending time with his cat Lucky.

A funeral service will be held on December 15, 2025, at Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield, with visitation from 10-11 a.m. A funeral Mass will follow at 11:30AM in St. Peter’s and St. Casimir Parish in Westfield, Massachusetts.
