James F. Leahy, Jr.

James (Jimmy) Leahy Jr. was born on July 7 1951 in Holyoke Massachusetts to Margaret (McCormick) Leahy and James Leahy. He leaves his Wife Linda (Provost)Leahy of 42 years and his children Matthew ( wife Carianne) Leahy, Jennifer Lafleur(and her husband Adam) and his Grand Children Tessa and Carter Lafleur and Parker and Ryan Leahy who he loved more than anything in the world. Also leaves his siblings Patty Jennings, Peggy Vershon her husband Peter, his youngest brother Joseph Leahy and his wife Wanita. Jimmy was preceded in death by his Parents and brothers Tommy and Billy Leahy. Jimmy worked 30 years for the court system and 32 years for the Holyoke Housing Authority retiring as Facilities Manager. During his time at the housing he made many friendships that endured over the years. He was very proud of the relationships he had created over long and distinguished career. One of Jimmy’s greatest passions (right behind his Grandchildren) was Hunting and spending time in the woods with his son Matthew and very best friends Don Oberlander, Larry Cavanaugh and Tony Tisdell. Jimmy’s Love for the sport of hunting and pursuit of Whitetail deer will live on through the memories he has created with the ones he loved. His smile, laugh, love and kindness will echo for eternity. Visiting hours will be held Sunday September 3rd from 1-4 pm at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St. Westfield MA.
