James D Welch, 74 died Sunday, June 23, 2024 in Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Westfield on July 31, 1949 to the late James T Welch and Katherine (Rogers) Welch. He lived in Vermont for a short time before returning to Westfield. He attended Westfield schools. He worked at American Abrasives for many years. He enjoyed woodworking and reading. He was a member of the former Westfield Eagles and was a member of the pitch league. He leaves his wife Jeannine (Allen) Welch who were together for 42 years and married for the past 20. His children Stephanie Lampman (Alan), Jennifer Santor (Scott) and Katrina Welch all of Vermont. Bonnie Giles (Hollis) of Becket and Michelle Lucia (Eric) of North Carolina. James also leaves 10 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and his siblings Dorene White and Mary Fisher of Westfield and Teresa Rowe and Ruth Bloking of Southwick. He also leaves many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by his brother David Sharples. The funeral and burial are at the convenience of the family. Firtionadams.com
