Janet N. (Hewins) Higgins

Janet N. Higgins died Saturday, June 14, 2025 in Baystate Medical Center, Springfield, Mass. She was born April 13, 1942 in Westfield, MA to the late Keith E. Hewins and Edith E. (Feldblum) Hewins. She was in Civil Air Patrol during High School and graduated from Westfield High class of 1960. She was a bank teller, bookkeeper, and manager of Town + Country Bowling Lanes, travel consultant and most recently before retiring, receptionist for McLaughlin Paper in West Springfield. She enjoyed bowling and coached junior bowling leagues for many years. She also enjoyed many family camping trips. She was married for 43 years to her husband John M. Higgins who predeceased her in 2009. She leaves behind her son, Jonathan M. Higgins, daughter Michele Godek, her husband David and grandchildren Kristen and Jacob Godek. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews. Her sister Anna C. Wilder-Newton predeceased her in 2003. Janet’s legacy will be her kind heart and giving spirit. The calling hours for Janet will be held on Friday, June 20, 2025 from 4-7 PM in Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025 at 11 AM in Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield. www.firtionadams.com
