Worcester, MA-A brilliant, bright star that shone over our family has been extinguished. Replaced by a profound grief at this loss in our now darkened galaxy. We lost our most beloved son, grandson, brother, nephew Jason Edward Macierowski as a result of a tragic fall at home. Born in Springfield, MA December 21, 1974 to Neil A. Macierowski and Alice Joanne (Bajurny) Macierowski. He had the biggest heart and would do anything for anyone. Loyalty and unwavering friendship is his legacy to us all. Jason began his life in West Springfield, MA, attending St. Thomas Elementary. He was a member of their Boy Scout Troop achieving the Life Merit Badge. As a scout he enjoyed summer camp sailing, hiking, camping and survival skills. Hiking and camping were lifelong endeavors. He was an avid NASCAR fan, also involved in several local boards. Graduated with honors from Cathedral High School, Springfield, MA. Civil and Environmental Engineering was his goal and graduated from Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His major project while a student was in Australia. He has been employed by Siemans Digital Industries Software, Inc. as a Senior Project Test Engineer for 16 years. He was viewed as a valuable and much respected member of the team. He leaves to honor his life and hold him close are parents Neil and Alice (Bajurny) Macierowski, West Springfield. Eric A. Macierowski (brother) Queens, NYC also Stephen Bajurny (uncle) and partner Cheryl Gregory of Agawam. He has many friends from Worcester to Boston who will be planning a memorial of remembrance to Jason in the spring. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, January 13th at 11 am in St Thomas Church, 47 Pine Street, West Springfield, MA 01089. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield. A calling hour will be held Thursday morning before the Mass at Firtion-Adams Funeral Services, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, from 9:30 am till 10:30 am. firtionadams.com
