Jean Amelia Beasley passed on into eternal life on Wednesday, January 1, 2025. She was the daughter of George A. Morey, Sr, and Dorothy Morey, nee Applebee. Raised in Chester, Massachusetts she had many fond memories of her family and friends during her childhood. She was a member of the Chester High School class of 1954, the Chester High Basketball team, and was a very proud alumni. She married Richard Beasley in 1956 and was happily married for 64 years. They moved to West Springfield where she was a beloved neighbor and was actively involved in the church. She worked at Strathmore Paper before raising her family and later worked at Storms Forge. Jean treasured spending time with her good friends and family. She was an enthusiastic grandparent, an avid swimmer and was fond of long road trips with her husband. She was a member of the Ramapogue Junior Women’s Club and enjoyed playing weekly bridge games with her friends. She was entertained by working in her garden, traveling to the Cape to visit her brother and to Tennessee to visit her grandchildren. She also enjoyed crosswords with her husband and brother, and completing puzzles. She was well known for her amazing pickellily and grape jelly. Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard Beasley, her son, Frederick Beasley, her brother George A. Morey Jr, and her sister Shirley Savery. She leaves behind her daughter Carol, son-in-law David, daughter-in-law Elizabeth, her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. All of whom she adored. Jean was kind, generous, and always put her family and friends first. She will be deeply missed. Services will be held on Saturday January 4 at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad Street, Westfield MA 01085. Calling hours will be at 1:00 pm to 1:20 pm. The service will take place at 1:30 pm, burial to follow in Springfield Street Cemetery in Agawam, MA.
