Jeanette T. (Swiderski) Rodriguez

Jeanette T. Rodriguez, lovingly known to all as “Sweetie,” passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025, at the age of 90.

Born on October 2, 1935, in Springfield, Massachusetts, Jeanette was the daughter of the late Johanna “Josie”Sheehan O’Sullivan Swiderski and Peter Swiderski. From the very beginning, family was the center of her world. Nothing brought her more joy than being surrounded by those she loved.

Jeanette spent many years working for the Westfield School Department before retiring. Those who knew her best remember her for her quick wit, wonderful sense of humor, and a kindness that seemed endless. She was gentle, selfless, and always put others—especially her children and grandchildren—before herself. Her warmth and loving nature were so genuine that “Sweetie” became more than a nickname; it was simply who she was.

She is survived by her devoted daughters, Lorin Fila (Ed) and Marisa Dubuc (Vity Stankis), her treasured grandchildren, Johanna Searles, Jennelle Masotti, Anthony Masotti, Danielle Dubuc, Dylan Dubuc, and Amberlee Rodriguez; and her great-grandchildren, Jacob Searles, Emily Searles, Andrew Searles, Ryan Searles, and Lily Searles, whom she adored beyond measure.

Jeanette was predeceased by her beloved husband, John Rodriguez, in 2007; her son, John Rodriguez Jr., in 2021; and her granddaughter, Stefanie Dubuc, in 2008. She was also predeceased by her sister, Joan Gezotis Bonini, and her brother, Walter Swiderski.

A private service will be held for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanette’s memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
