With heavy hearts, we bid farewell to Jeffrey F. Hatch, a lifelong resident of Westfield. Jeff passed away on October 11, 2023, after a brief illness, surrounded by his loving wife of 38 years, Mary Beth (Marceau), and devoted daughters, Nicole Wahlberg of Agawam and Kimberly S. Hatch of Holyoke. Born to the late Donald W. Hatch and Doris (Armstrong) Hatch on October 13, 1955, Jeff was an alumnus of Westfield schools, Akron University and Westfield State College. Jeff's greatest joy was his family, and he often expressed that he was the luckiest Papa in the world. He leaves behind his cherished grandchildren, Eleanor and Jack Wahlberg, who brought immense happiness, silliness, joy, and light to his life. An animal lover, Jeff's bond with his trusty sidekick, Ernie, and his grandpets, Phoebe, Essie, Frankie, Seraphina, Winnie, and Archie, was truly special. Over the years, many traditions changed. One cherished tradition that has endured for 37 years was gathering his children on Christmas Eve to read 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Jeff's willingness to help anyone in need was a testament to his character. He is survived by his brothers, Bill, Tom, and Mike Hatch, along with numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the "Jeffrey Hatch Grandchildren Fund" at Easthampton Savings Bank, 85 Broad Street, Westfield, MA 01085. Jeff's memory will forever be in our hearts. Calling hours are at Firtion Adams, 76 Broad Street, Westfield on Thursday, October 19th starting at 4pm with a celebration of life to begin at 6:30pm. Firtionadams.com
