Dirk Futon, also known as Jeff Roncalli, age 64, of Westfield MA passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family, friends and dogs on May 9, 2023.
Dirk was born as Jeff Roncalli on February 3, 1959, in Springfield MA, to Armand and Virginia (nee Suffritti), both of Springfield MA. He is survived by his fabulous wife Mrs. Futon (Lynn), son Mario (Erin) Wilson, sister Janet Caney (nee Roncalli), and her sons Darren and Marty (Amanda, Mia, Henry) Caney. Jeff was predeceased by his father, mother, and brother. Dirk’s family are too numerous to list, and already know who they are.
He graduated from Western New England University with a degree in Computer Science and immediately embarked on his career of providing financial decision support to hospitals throughout the area..
To his co-workers, Jeff was known as a quiet, pleasant professional with technology expertise in financial systems. On the other hand, Dirk was most well known as the raucous drummer for the local punk rock band Pajama Slave Dancers. The band has toured the US East Coast, Europe, and the UK and been met with equal fervor/joy/disgust/dismay/annoyance/noise abatement procedures wherever they have played. Along with his drumming skills, Jeff was an expert recording engineer, recording and mastering many bands releases. He was a horse racing fanatic, attending Belmont, Saratoga, touring Kentucky horse farms, and curating a huge trove of racing memorabilia. And if that wasn’t enough, he was exploring the possibility of becoming a MUFON investigator.
Visitation will be held from 4-6pm on May 15, 2023, with Service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you make a donation to the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance (thoroughbredaftercare.org).
He was loved, adored, and will be sorely missed by all. www.firtionadams.com
