Jose Antonio Figueroa Sr., 86, passed away on July 22, 2026. He was born on June 20, 1940, in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico. 

Jose was the beloved husband of Evelyn Figueroa, with whom he shared 47 wonderful years of marriage. He was the father of Michael Figueroa and Jose Figueroa Jr., and stepfather to George Ashley and his wife, Lori, and Carl Ashley and his wife, Christina, along with their family.

He is also survived by his brother, Rafael Figueroa and his wife, Lenna, their children Walter, Ralph, and Rachael, his sister Rosa Figueroa, and his grandchildren, Jordan, Jared, and Jadon. Jose also leaves behind many dear friends, especially his longtime friend, Mary Richards.

Jose enjoyed the simple things in life. He was a devoted Boston Red Sox fan and could often be found in his favorite chair watching the games. When baseball wasn’t on, he loved listening to oldies on the radio. One of his favorite pastimes was taking long drives with his wife, enjoying the journey and spending time together.

Jose will be remembered for his kind heart, his sense of humor, and the warmth he brought to everyone who knew him. He touched many lives through his kindness and friendship, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
