Judith (Judy) Ann Pease Tatro, 65, of Montgomery, MA, passed away peacefully on April 10, 2026.
Born on July 5th, 1960, she was the youngest daughter of Edwin Ross Pease and Esther McOuat Pease. Judy met the love of her life, Timothy J. Tatro, in 1978, and they were married on November 29, 1980. Two of her greatest joys were marrying her soulmate and becoming a mother.
Judy had a gift for bringing warmth and light to those around her. She inspired others to be kind, compassionate, and to find joy in life’s simple beauty. Her laughter was infectious, her smile radiant, and she will be remembered as loving, gracious, witty, and deeply kind.
Raised on her family’s farm, Judy developed a lifelong love of animals. She and Tim were active members of Northeast Pyr Rescue, where they fostered and adopted more than sixteen Great Pyrenees, offering countless animals a second chance at a loving home.
She was a devoted member of her community, serving on the local school board, and was a faithful member of Wyben Church.
Judy attended Holyoke Community College, studying early childhood education, before pursuing her license as a hairdresser. She later built a long and respected career as a Technical Services Representative at ProAmpac (Jen-Coat), retiring in 2020.
She found joy in gathering with family and friends, singing, music, baking, and advocating for animal welfare, but above all, she was a devoted wife and mother.
Judy leaves behind her beloved husband of 45 years, Timothy J. Tatro of Montgomery, MA; her two sons, Gregory (Cara) Tatro of Huntington, VT, and Joshua Tatro of Cummington, MA; her sisters, Marlene Libardi of Palmetto, FL and Janet (Danny) Cassanelli of East Otis, MA; many nieces and nephews; and her cherished Great Pyrenees, Ellie. She will be missed beyond measure by all who knew and loved her. Her family finds comfort in knowing she will always be watching over them.
She was predeceased by her parents; her sister, Gloria O’Brien; her brother, David Pease; her in-laws, Hank and Helen Tatro; and her brothers-in-law, Richard O’Brien and Gene Libardi. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on July 5, 2026, location and details to come.
