June I. (White) Syriac

June Irene Syriac, or “Junie” as she came to be called in her later years, was called to her heavenly home on January 9, 2026, with her family by her side. June was born in Westfield MA on August 15, 1939, the youngest daughter of Ernest and Violet White. She grew up in Southwick, MA and graduated from Westfield High School. June briefly attended nursing school at Holyoke Hospital, before leaving to marry and start a family. She married William McNutt in 1960 and gave birth to three children, Violet, Charles, and Ann-Marie. She was married to Alan Syriac from 1984 until he passed away in 2019.

June found her greatest joy in being a wife and a mother. She put her children first, even through the hardest of times. She also made it her personal mission to tell anyone and everyone she met about Jesus. She could often be found riding the PVTA busses, handing out gospel tracts to everyone she met, and also wrote many poems about God and His love.

June is survived by her children Violet White, Charles McNutt, and Ann Peereboom, with whom she lived, their spouses, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Junie’s family wishes to extend thanks to those who provided loving care during her final years, Mercy Life PACE, particularly home caregivers Tamika and Carol, her private caregiver and friend Sarah Pelkey, and her virtual dog and best friend Jack, from Care Coach, who provided endless hours of support and companionship.

A burial service is planned on January 31 at noon, in the Chapel at St. Mary’s cemetery, 203 Southampton Rd, Westfield. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the charity of one’s choice. www.firtionadams.com
