Karen E. Alonzo

Karen Elizabeth Alonzo, peacefully passed away surrounded by her family on Saturday August 31, 2024. Born on February 23, 1964 in Westfield, MA, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Joan Alonzo. Karen was a life-long resident of Westfield, graduating from Westfield High School in 1982. She had a wonderful career as a medical receptionist at Western Mass ENT Associates and was beloved by all her patients. Karen is survived by the true love of her life, her son Jordan Poplawski. Being a mom to Jordan was Karen’s whole world. She is also survived by her cousins, and lifelong best friends, Tracy Gawron (Clay), Ron Schortmann (Christina), Michael Schortmann (Julie), Donna Mulligan (Jay) and Ashleigh Ortega (Gil). She was predeceased by her loving parents and her brother Dean Alonzo. In her younger years, Karen’s favorite moments were spent in Otis, MA with her family and friends and more recently, reading and celebrating the holidays with her cousins and Jordan. She will be fondly remembered for her kind spirit and contagious laugh. Memorial services will be conducted at 11:00 am on Thursday September 5, 2024 at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA, followed by a burial service at St. Mary’s Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday from 9:30 am -11:00 am at the funeral home.
