Kayleigh Miller Obituary

It is with broken hearts and profound love that we share the peaceful passing of Kayleigh Ann Miller, who left this world on Thursday, July 17th, 2025, at the age of 33. Surrounded by the constant, unwavering love of her family, Kayleigh took her final breath wrapped in the same care and devotion that carried her throughout her life. Born on April 28th, 1992, in Port of Spain, Trinidad, Kayleigh—affectionately known as “KK” and “Bird”—grew up in Westfield, Massachusetts, where she attended Westfield public schools. Kayleigh’s presence was a gift. She had a gentle, radiant soul that brought light and love to everyone who had the blessing of knowing her. Though non-verbal, Kayleigh communicated more powerfully than words ever could—with her smile, her laugh, and her unshakable faith. Her spirit was filled with joy, and her laughter—so contagious and pure—could fill a room and bring a family to joyful tears. She found happiness in life’s simple pleasures: watching a good comedy, taking walks with her mom and her beloved dog Bailey, visiting the Summer House for ice cream, and heading to the fish store with Todd. These small traditions became sacred, cherished rituals that brought joy to her and everyone around her. Kayleigh’s life was a reflection of God’s love—quiet, steadfast, and full of grace. She reminded us daily that love doesn’t need to be spoken to be deeply felt. She leaves behind her loving parents, Wendy and Thomas Philipp, and her father Morgan Miller; her siblings Kane Miller, Seth Philipp and his wife Sarah, Hannah Romero and her husband Daniel, and Logan Miller of Florida; and her adored nieces and nephew—Dani and Emma Philipp, and Rhuna and Lorenzo Romero. Kayleigh also leaves her cherished grandfather Edward J. McDermott, former Mayor of Westfield; her aunts Sr. Annette McDermott, SSJ, and Suzanne Murphy; her uncle Kevin LaFlamme and his wife Nancy; as well as many cousins and extended family in Trinidad and Tobago and England who held her dear. Beyond her family, Kayleigh was blessed with a devoted circle of caregivers—Lyne, Nicole, and Angelica—who offered not only care but genuine affection, forming beautiful bonds that touched all their lives. Kayleigh is now reunited with those who went before her, including her beloved grandparents Lynne Anne McDermott, Marilyn Miller, and George M. Miller. Services to honor Kayleigh’s life will be held at Firtion Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St, Westfield, MA on Friday, August 1st, 2025 from 4–7pm. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, August 2nd at 10:30am at Pioneer Valley Baptist Church, 265 Ponders Hollow Rd, Westfield, MA. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Kayleigh’s honor to the Westfield Soup Kitchen (101 Meadow St, Westfield, MA 01085) or Riverside Industries (1 Cottage St, Easthampton, MA 01027), organizations that reflect the compassion and community Kayleigh inspired. www.firtionadams.com
