Laura Claire (Powers) DuBois

Laura Claire DuBois, 75, passed away on Nov. 4, 2024, in Westfield, Mass. Born on March 13, 1949 in Holyoke, Mass., Laura devoted her life to her family and her love of gardening. She grew up in Chicopee, Mass., and graduated from Chicopee High School, a place where she began a lifelong friendship with Rosie Deady. Laura's heart was always fullest when surrounded by her loved ones or tending to her gardens. A spiritual and open-hearted soul, she found joy in the beauty of nature, travel, the beaches of Cape Cod, and the companionship of her cherished family pets. Laura leaves behind her beloved husband of 54 years, David DuBois; daughters Kristin, J'aime, and Lindsay; sons-in-law Jason Rhea and Jamie Emerson; grandchildren Cecelia, Vivian, and Riley; brother David Powers, his wife Karen; sister-in-law Joanne Powers; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Arthur and Claire (St. Jean) Powers, and her brother James Powers. Her life was a testament to love, creativity, and the simple pleasures of life, leaving a lasting impact on everyone she met. Laura's presence will be profoundly missed, yet her spirit will continue to flourish in the gardens she nurtured and the family she adored. Calling hours for Laura will be held on Saturday, November 9th from 1-3 pm from the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. A service will follow at 3. Burial will be private.
