Lauren S. (Colaccio) McIntyre, 65, passed away on Monday, July 15, 2024 at home surrounded by close friends. She was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island to the late Albert and Sarah “Sally” (Swarbrick) Colaccio. Lauren received her Bachelors from the University of Massachusetts and her Masters from Springfield College. Driven by a deep passion to help others, she spent twenty years working at Concentra and thirteen years at Met Life as a Vocational Rehab Specialist helping others get back to work. Lauren was a voracious reader and often finishing several books a week with historical fiction being her book of choice. Lauren enjoyed travel and could be found surrounded by friends and laughter on the sandy beach of Chappaquiddick. She was integral part of the New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue, served as the President of the Friends of Granby Library, and a proud member of the Wine, Women and Books Club. Lauren had an innate ability to connect to others and spent time out with her close friends enjoying good food and drinks. She was predeceased by her brother James Williams, survived by his wife Judy Williams and their daughters Holly and Kimberly, countless friends and her cherished Old English Sheep dogs Brewster and Cookie and her loving cat Smokey. There will be a Celebration of Life announced at a later date in the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085.
