Leonard Fredette Obituary

Leonard H. Fredette, 77, Ascended into the Journey of Everlasting Life on 5 February 2024 in Holyoke, Ma.  Leonard was born on October 24th, 1946, to the late Leonard A. Fredette and Eileen (Daniels) Fredette.  He was raised in Agawam, Ma by his loving stepmother, the late Phyllis Le Page (Barden).  Leonard was a 32nd Degree Mason with the Seaboard Lodge N. 56 A.F. & A.M. Portsmouth, Virginia.  He was known as “Lenny” to all his family and friends.  Lenny was employed as a mechanic at Riverside Park, Rexcel and the Town of West Springfield School Department until retiring in 2008.  Lenny was an avid bowler, participating in the Riverdale Lanes Guys and Dolls League and the Chicopee AMF Men’s Bowling League.  He enjoyed playing and coaching men’s softball, and he would never turn down an opportunity to hit the links for a golf match.  Lenny also enjoyed spending his time coaching his daughters’ sports which included West Springfield Park and Recreation Soccer and Basketball and the Pioneer Valley Girls U-16 soccer team.  Lenny was a diehard fan of the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics.  When his sports weren’t on, he could be found engrossed in a Western show or book.  Lenny is predeceased by his brother David Fredette and leaves behind his brothers James, Edwin, Calvin, Mark, Matthew, Greg Nichols and his sisters Laurie King and Deborah Hilliard.  Lenny leaves behind his two daughters, Katie Fredette and her husband Bill Bush of Westfield Ma and Melissa (Fredette) Clay and her husband Chris and two beautiful granddaughters Emma and Ava of Cheshire, Ma.  Lenny also leaves behind several nieces, nephews and cousins.  Lenny will forever be remembered by his sense of humor and his kind heart.

The Service will be private for family and close friends on 17 February 2024 from 1-2:30 with the Mount Moriah Lodge A.F & A.M. providing an Evergreen Service at 2:30. www.firtionadams.com
