Lorraine K. (Case) Alaconis, 87 years young, a longtime resident of Westfield was called peacefully home in God’s arms on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 with great grace, dignity and bravery dealing with her illness. Lorraine was born at St. Francis Hospital in Hartford, CT on April 26, 1934, daughter of the late Royce and Katherine (Munson) Case. She and her siblings were raised in Avon, CT. Lorraine receive her education in her hometown of Avon. She than met the love of her life, Edward C. Alaconis of Tolland, MA at a dance. They were married on July 3, 1954 in her hometown and spent over 52 years of love, marriage and commitment until Edward passed on May 1, 2006. They worked with enthusiastic energy and dedication raising their four children. Lorraine worked for Ensign Bickford-CT, Friendly Ice Cream and Digital Equipment Corporation where she retired from. She also attended Mansfield Hairdressing Academy. She was able to take some years at home raising her babies which was her favorite job of all. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, knitting, sewing, golfing, and her pets, loved to travel, liked a casino trip here and there, cruises, socializing, dancing with her love and most of all spending time with her family. She always shared special stories with each of her kids and grandkids; always loving to bring a smile to their faces and making each feel so very special. Lorraine is survived by her four loving children, Lisa Gadreault of whom she lived with in Westfield, Kathleen Priest and her husband Scott of Westfield, Tracy Alaconis and her partner Chip Dazelle of Huntington, MA, Charles (Chuck) Alaconis and his wife Kathy of Southwick, MA. She leaves her siblings, sister, Grace York (Jim) of Bristol, CT, brother, Richard Case (Cindy) of Carroll Plantation, ME, brother, Paul Case (Theresa) of East Lyme, CT; sister-in-law Judith Alaconis (Donald), her 9 adored grandchildren, Bryce Alaconis, Christopher Gadreault, Curtis, Carl & Craig Priest, Tracy’s children, Tanya Anglin, Matthew & Daniel Anderson and Alee Fitzpatrick along with her 14 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandson and many nieces and nephews. Lorraine was predeceased by her brother Royce W. (Sonny) Case and grandson Jason Gadreault. Visiting hours to honor Lorraine’s life, will be on Sunday, May 16th from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. followed by a service at 4:00 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad Street, Westfield, MA. The burial will be private where she will rest in peace with Edward at the Massachusetts Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery.
