Madeline F (Barto) Frantiska

Westfield-Madeline F. Frantiska, 102, died Tuesday, December 17, 2024 in Noble Hospital. She was born in Westfield on June 28, 1922 to the late Stephen and Sadie Barto. She has been a lifelong resident of Westfield and was a 1940 graduate of St. Mary’s High School. Prior to marriage she worked at Torrington Needle Factory. She married for 68 years to her husband the late Joseph J. Frantiska Sr. in 1945. She was an avid golfer and made a hole in one at age of 65 at Shaker Farms Country Club. She loved to bake and cook. Madeline also loved oil painting and sold many of her paintings. She leaves her son Joseph Frantiska Jr. of North Chelmsford, MA, her daughter Carol Howard of Holyoke, her grandson Greg Crowley and his wife Megan of Monson and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves her lifelong friend Doris Bonkowski. Calling hours will be held on Monday December 30th from 1:00-3:30 pm followed by a service at 3:30 pm. Burial will be private.
