Maria Torres

Maria Torres (Gonzales), age 93, of Westfield, MA, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2026. She was born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, on August 18, 1932.

Maria was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and sister. She lived a long and meaningful life defined by her family and deep Christian faith. Her presence brought light into the lives of her family. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who love her.

Maria was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jesus Torres; her loving son, Jose Torres; and six of her seven siblings.

Maria is survived by her daughter, Idalia Torres of Westfield; her sons, Jesus Torres Jr. (Cindy) of Westfield and Daniel Torres (Sandra) of East Longmeadow; her daughter-in-law, Kara Torres of Westfield; and her brother, Angel Fernandez (Barbara) of Westfield. She also leaves 11 grandchildren: Jose Flores (Karen) of Dacula, GA; Miso Flores and his fiancée, Danielle, of Westfield; Taina Hunter (Justin) of Newport News, VA; Sarah Early (David) of Southwick, MA; Jesus Torres III (Amelia) of Vernon, CT; Juan Torres of Hartford, CT; Cari Avalone of Westfield; Amelia Davila of Springfield, MA; Michelle Lima (Adilson) of Leominster, MA; and Jay and Christopher Torres of Westfield. She also leaves 17 great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Burial will follow at Pine Hill Cemetery, Westfield.
