Marilyn Elizabeth Wallace 78, of West Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away on June 10, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts.
Marilyn was born on February 7, 1947, in Burlington, Vermont, to James and Isabell Smith Mack. She was one of seven amazing Mack children, and their friendship and companionship throughout her life was something she cherished.
She was a graduate of Richmond High School, class of 1965, and continued her education at Fanny Allen School of Practical Nursing, graduating with her LPN in 1967.
Marilyn had a passion for working with the elderly and dedicated her career to their care. She worked at the Visiting Nurses Association in South Burlington, Vermont, until 1998, and later at Merryvale Assisted Living in Oxford, Georgia, until 2015.
On March 5, 1970, she married George Wallace in Richmond, Vermont. They were happily married for 55 years and together raised two sons, Sean (and his significant other, Beth) and Brian (and his spouse, Marnie). She was the perfect "boy mom," always supportive and loving.
Marilyn was a loving grandmother to six grandchildren: Courtney, Lindsey, Tyler, Madison, Brian, and Connor, and two great-grandchildren: Jace and Aria.
She loved attending youth sporting events and was a constant source of support for every child who played. Marilyn and George were well-traveled and always looking for a reason to embark on a new adventure. Like all Mack women, she loved a good casino and the sound of a slot machine.
She was loved and admired for her honest opinions and no-nonsense approach to life. Marilyn was loved by all and will truly be missed.
A celebration of Marilyn's life will be held at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam, Massachusetts, on July 1, 2025, at 2:00 PM.
