Mary P. (Petrucelli) Allen

Mary P. (Petrucelli) Allen, 100, passed away on February 25, 2020 at Baystate Noble Hospital. She was born in Westfield, MA to the late John and Anunciata (Finaldi) Petrucelli and was the oldest alumni of St. Mary’s High School Class of 1937. Mary worked as a sales clerk for Doyle and Smith Department Store in Westfield after high school. Additionally worked as a clerk for Stanley Home Products and was the proprietor for 15 years at Seconds Unlimitied from 1975-1990. Mary was a communicant  and past President of the Women’s Confraternity at St. Mary’s Church, she volunteered at Noble Hospital, she read for the blind and Volunteered at St. Vincent de Paul Store. Mary was “First Lady” when her husband Paul was President of the National Society of Public Accountants in 1978. Sadly, Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Paul Allen, her son Paul Dennis Allen in 1974 and is the last of her siblings being predeceased by, Lawrence, Anthony, Albert, Charles, Ciro, Lena Petrucelli, Louise Carrier and Rose Ouimet. She is survived by her loving children, David Allen and his wife April of Madison, CT, Mary Lou Allen of Honolulu, HI and Deborah A. Toomey and her husband Neil of Becket, two grandchildren, Meagan Allen, Joshua Toomey and his partner Ellie Meyer and three great grandchildren, Leighan Toomey, Jamie Toomey and Jeremy Toomey. Mary’s funeral will be held on Friday at 12 noon in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, 203 Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will precede the service from 10AM-12PM in the funeral home.
