Mary E. (Hester) Colon

Mary E. (Hester) Colón, 43, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2025 at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Holyoke to Mary Frances (McGavin) and the late Richard Lee Hester. She was a 2001 graduate of Westfield High School and received her bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in Early Childhood Development from American International College in 2005. Mary worked as a Gear Up Coordinator for the Valley Opportunity Council, Inc for many years. Mary is survived by her loving husband, Miguel A. Colón, her cherished children, Shelly D Holcomb, Mateo A Colón, and Gabriel D Colón, her mother Mary F. (McGavin) Hester, a brother Daniel Hester and his wife Robin, nephews, Braxton, Tatum and Maddox, a nephew Ryan Lafountain and his wife Alliy and great nieces, Kali, Aubrey and great nephew Ryan, her mother in law Hilda, father in law Miguel, sister in laws Marisa and Christina, and nephew Sergio, and best friends Julie Fisher and Lizie Montanez, many aunts and uncles and cousins.
