Mary Ellen (Regan) Connors, of Westfield, died peacefully on May 6, 2023, with her family at her side. Mary was born on July 28. 1928, in Springfield, MA to Michael and Bridget (Sullivan) Regan. Mary was predeceased by her beloved husband of 61 years, Francis Kenneth Connors in 2013. Mary was also predeceased by her son Francis Kenneth Connors and her sister Katherine LaCroix and her brother Joseph Regan. Mary grew up in the Hungry Hill section of Springfield and graduated from Cathedral High School. Mary was very proud of her Irish heritage and every Sunday listened to her Irish music.
Mary worked at Noble Hospital on the switchboard until her retirement. Mary had many years of enjoyment at Noble and developed many lasting friendships. Mary was a cub scout leader for many years when her children were younger. Mary was a communicant of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Parish in Westfield and a member for many years of the Rosary Sodality and the Catholic Women's Club.
Mary is survived by her five children, Stephen Connors (Anne), Susan Seslar (Sean), Brian Connors (Nancy), Kathleen Hoffman, Mary Lisa Hoyt-Wellspeak (Paul) and fourteen grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren and extended family and friends. Mary leaves her best friend of 62 years Caroline (Lee) Blair of Westfield. The funeral will be held on Monday, May 15, 2023 at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Church, Bartlett Street, Westfield. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA. A calling hour will be held at the Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield Monday from 11 a.m. – 12 noon before the Mass.
