Maryann K Watson

Maryann K Watson, 57, passed away peacefully on April 16, 2022 after battling debilitating illnesses for over 30 years. Maryann was born in Springfield, MA on October 8, 1964, the daughter of the late Robert Blake and Antoinette (Giordano) Blake. Upon graduating from Johnson and Wales University in 1986, she took a job with Marriot in Plattsburgh, NY where she met the love of her life, Keith. They moved back to Springfield in 1988 to be married. When illness and injury stopped Maryann from working, she chose to use what little energy she had to finding those worse off than her and helping them. She founded and ran the Western MA Parrothead Club for over 10 years, holding about 12 events a year, to raise money and services for many worthwhile causes. This is a true testament to who Maryann was as a person; a woman with a generous and compassionate heart that always put others first. Besides her father, Maryann was also predeceased by her grandparents, Giovanni and Annunziata Giordano, her father-in-law Thomas Watson and her uncle Phillip Caron. Besides Keith and Antoinette, Maryann is survived by her siblings Bob (Karen) Blake, Nancy (Scott) Rines, John (Connie) Blake and Bill (Janet) Blake, her mother-in-law Mary Watson, her in-laws, Tom (Tracy), Paul and Kristen Watson; her aunts and uncles, Rosario (Anna), Amedeo (Dee) Giordano, her cousins Tom, Phil, Kate and Mary Caron, Neena (Steve) Ieraci, Maria (Ray) Gobeille, and her beloved nieces and nephews: Andy, Brittany (Dan), Dan, Emily (Josh) Sam, Colin, Jack, Erin, Jenna, Hannah, Nathan, Gabe, Caitlyn, Brett, Sean, Aaron, Carter and AJ, as well as a host of friends and relatives. A special thank you to Maryann’s caregiver, Sue Corriveau, who in caring for Maryann not only became irreplaceable to the family but, in a very short time, became her most trusted friend. We would like to think that Maryann is right now playing cards with her dad, while Bailey, Maggie and her beloved Murphy sit by her side while they wait for Sophie and Keith to someday join them. A celebration of Maryann’s life will be held on Saturday April 23rd from 1-4 pm at Firtion-Adams Funeral Home located at 76 Broad Street in Westfield, MA. followed by a service at 4 pm.
