Mitchel Soriano, 55 of Westfield, passed away on 5/21/24 surrounded by his loving family after a very brave fight. He was born in Denver, Colorado to Raymond and Nora Soriano, where he was an Arvada West High School graduate. He spent time in San Diego, California before finding the love of his life Tracey and moving out to the East Coast. Over the years we were blessed to hear many family stories filled with love and laughter and his many memories from back home. He was employed by Lockheed Martin as a project manager, and then went on to Premier Education Group where he was a school director for over 20 years. Most recently, he was excited to join NETTTS as school director of their Somers campus. No matter where he was working, his colleagues became family and he loved to watch his students succeed. He likely left a trail of laughter and stories behind him as he went. Mitch was funny (no, hilarious), smart, hardworking and strong. He loved hard and family was everything. He loved football, fishing, music, and a good movie or tv show but not quite as much as Friday night dates with his wife. His daughter, Meghan, was the apple of his eye and will always be his princess. More than anything he loved playing with his young grandsons and he was recently most proud to see his boy LJ graduate from high school and finish his first year at college.
He is survived by his wife Tracey, daughter Meghan (Breault), his son-in-law Tyler Defeo, his grandsons Silas, Kai, and Wesley, and his son LJ; his parents Raymond and Nora; his brother Ray Jr. and sister-in-law Brittany, sister Michelle and brother-in-law Kevin Kirchmar, and his brother Joe; his mother-in-law Joanne, sister-in-law Rennee, and brother-in-law Brian; nieces and nephews (who all had unique close bonds with their Uncle) Lauren, Ryan, Katie, Zach, Jordan, Tyler, Riley, Aveda, Lincoln, Leona, Willow, Mia, and our soon-to-be Ashton; Aunts Marge, Delores, and Antoni, and Uncles Tony and Richard; and countless more friends and family, including his lifelong friend Mark. He leaves behind way too many, way too soon. He was greeted into this next chapter by his brother-in-law Shorty, father-in-law Fred, grandparents Elsie, Louise and George, Aunts Angie, Rose, Esther, Roselea, and Uncles Max and Ronald, and his two best friends Jack and Joey.
He is most likely currently driving his old jeep looking for a new fishing spot with the dogs. (He's also probably tsk-tsking me for not making this funnier for him.)
A memorial service will be held at Firtion Adams on June 1st (his birthday and what he called a national holiday, of course) from 2-5 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to a college fund for his grandsons Silas, Kai and Wesley in Mitch's honor (c/o Tracey). www.firtionadams.com
