Neil Harman Obituary

Neil Irwin "Pops" Harman, 83, died peacefully on Thursday, March 14, 2024, in his home surrounded by his loving family after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Endicott, NY on February 3, 1941, to the late Neil and Edwina Harman. He is a lifelong Western, Ma resident after moving to the area in 1968 and attended Union-Endicott High School. Neil is survived by his wife Priscilla Ann Harman of 56 years.
Neil married his love, Priscilla Harman and was a protector and loving father to six girls.
Later, he enjoyed a long and humbling career working full-time as a mechanical engineer for Premoid/James River Corp, creating lifelong bonds along the way.
He was an avid storyteller and often enlightened his audience with futile information genuine to his experiences. Pops enjoyed family vacations to visit his widespread kin, binge-watching classical films and tv-shows, indulging in his favorite niche snacks, fishing, and was an avid boxing fan. He was always a devoted dog owner and shared unconditional love for each of them like they were his own children. There was never a problem he couldn't fix with his hands or his heart.
Neil treasured his role as a grandfather finding joy watching endless football and lacrosse games, dance recitals, and soccer matches.
His memory will forever be imprinted on the lives of his daughters and their families, Pamela Rickenbach, Leslie Pressey, Elizabeth Harman and partner Joseph Taylor, Carolyn O'Brien and husband Tom, Amy Sedlatschek and husband Robert, Ivy Harman-Beltrandi and partner Christopher Bennett, grandchildren Omar, Zoe, Kelly, Jason, Katherine, Christopher, Nicholas, Lindsey, Bridgette, Molly, Jessica, Kyle, Shelby, Michelle, Bobby, Taylor, Mason, Chloe, Delaney, Kendall, fourteen great-grandchildren, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He leaves behind his sisters, Nola Emery of Lebanon, Oregon and Carol Mersereau of Cambridge, Ma. As we bid farewell, we are at peace knowing he will be reunited with his sister Elaine Wrigley, his nephew David Mersereau and each of his since passed dogs.
A memorial service for Neil will be held on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at 10 am in Firtion-Adams Funeral Home, 76 Broad St, Westfield, Ma.
