Nunzio J. Cennamo

Nunzio J. Cennamo, 97, passed away at home on Friday, October 23, 2020 surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Westfield, MA to the late Luciano and Rosina (DeLuca) Cennamo. Nunzio served his country with the United States Army during WWII in Germany and Northern France. He attained the rank of PFC and received the European African Middle Eastern Theater Campaign Ribbon with two service stars and was awarded the Purple Heart. Nunzio worked for Stanley Home Products for many years and owned and operated Nunzio Cennamo Trucking. He had a passion for farming and passed that love through to his grandchildren and up until a few months ago was tending the garden with them. He loved to go out dancing with his wife Emily, and making his own spaghetti sauce. Nunzio was a member of UNICO and the Italian Club of Westfield. Sadly, he was predeceased by his beloved wife of 52 years, Emily A. (Ziemba) Cennamo in 2004, a son Nunzio Cennamo, Jr in 1969 and seven siblings, Louis Cennamo, Lucy Riga, Gerald Cennamo, Michael Cennamo, John Cennamo, Mary Calini and Lena Masciadrelli. Nunzio is survived by his son Robert Cennamo and his wife Suzette of Westfield, his cherished grandchildren, Joshua R. Cennamo and his wife Raena, Hannah Roy and her husband Derek and Jessica Roy and her husband Nicholas, all of Westfield and his three great grandchildren, Derek Roy, Jackson Roy and Joshua N. Cennamo, Jr. and a sister, Helen Nagorka of Agawam. A Funeral Service for Nunzio will be held on Wednesday at 12:30 PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield followed by burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Southampton Rd. Westfield. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday from 4-7 PM in the funeral home. Donations in Nunzio’s name may be directed to a charity of your choice. www.firtionadams.com
