Patricia Taylor, age 87, daughter of the late Emile and Miriam (Johnson) Racicot
passed away peacefully at her home in Westfield on Saturday, April 17. Patricia was born in Farnham, QC, Canada on February 5th, 1934. She and her family immigrated into the United States in 1944 and settled in Holyoke. She married Stanley Taylor, an Air Force serviceman stationed at Westover Air Base, in 1954. They enjoyed a loving and happy marriage until Stanley's death in 2005. Her poise and intelligence helped her move on from waitressing at Storrowton Tavern, to managing the Yogi's restaurant in the Baystate West Towers, eventually becoming an event planner and hostess at Chez Josef in Agawam. In her later years, she was well loved as a cafeteria manager at the Westfield Vocational School, and the Westfield Powdermill Elementary School. In her retirement, she enjoyed reading, gardening, and visiting with family and friends. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (Taylor) Bannish and her husband Martin Bannish Sr. of Brookfield, MA her granddaughter Kristy Bannish of Westfield, her grandson Martin Bannish Jr. and his wife Sara (Anusiewicz) Bannish, and her beloved great-granddaughter, Madison of Southampton, MA She is survived by her sister, Anita Lynn of Colorado, and her brother Wilfred Racicot and his husband Wayne of Florida plus several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother Ronnie Racicot of Gardner, MA and her sister Barbara Chabot of Holyoke, MA. The funeral and burial will be private. Firtionadams.com
