Paul R Parent

Holyoke-Paul Richard Parent, 69, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 31, 2023, at Mission Care at Holyoke after a brief illness. He was born in Holyoke on April 1, 1954 to the late Lionel and Doris (Bouthillier) Parent. He grew up in Holyoke, attended local schools and was a lifelong resident. He worked for the National Blank Book and Avery Dennison. He was a former parishioner of Immaculate Conception Church in Holyoke. He enjoyed playing video games, watching classic TV programs, playing cards and Bingo. He was living at Mission Care at Holyoke, the former Mt. St. Vincent Nursing Home, for the past 12 years. Special thanks to the staff at Mission Care for the compassionate care that was given to Paul, especially from Tracy, Tabitha, Nicole, Caroline, Celines, Mike and Michelle, and the team from Baystate Hospice, especially Donna. Paul leaves his brother Fr. Rene Parent, M.S. the former Pastor of Holy Trinity Church in Westfield and who is now at St. James Church in Danielson, CT. He also leaves his aunt Beverly Parent and her son Bruce with whom she lives in Killingworth, CT., several cousins, and his special friends Lynn, Melvin, and Diane. There are no calling hours. A Liturgy of Christian Burial will be held on Friday August 11 at 10:30 am at Holy Trinity Church, 335 Elm St., Westfield followed by a burial in Notre Dame Cemetery, South Hadley.
