Peter "Pete" Bellinger, 75, of Southampton, Massachusetts, passed away on February 3, 2025, at Holyoke Hospital. Born in Watertown, NY, on October 31, 1949, to the late Paul and Ortha (Huck) Bellinger, Pete was a graduate of General Brown High School in Dexter, NY. Pete was the beloved husband of Carol (Brown) Bellinger for over 36 years. Together they traveled to NASCAR races, visited family and friends in NY, and in their early years, loved travel adventures. They settled in Western Massachusetts, where Pete put his framing and carpentry skills to use, building his own business. They became a great team, with him building houses and her working as a real estate agent. Together, they shared their love of cats, their most recent cats, Holly and Annie already miss him terribly. Whenever possible, Pete would travel back to his hometown of Dexter, NY, where he was known as a hunter, fisherman, and overall outdoorsman, creating lasting memories with many friends and family. Pete was also known for his love of NASCAR races, gardening, hiking, and 4-wheeling, all of which brought him incredible joy. He also cherished the gift of long phone conversations with his Aunt Connie. They spent hours sharing stories from the past and present while time slipped away. After retirement, Pete spent hours hiking in the woods near his home, visiting friends, and embracing a slower lifestyle. He was a member of the Pine Drive Sports Club as well as the Pioneer Valley Club. Pete was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Ortha (Huck) Bellinger; his sisters, Beth Brown and Hope Kizzer; and his brothers-in-law, Bruce Kizzer, Roger Brown, and Victor Brown. He is survived by his wife, Carol, his sisters-in-law, Chris Dirr, Cindy Brown, and Sandy Brown; his aunt, Connie Bellinger; two nieces, Amelia DeCilles and Melissa Dirr; one nephew, Ken Kizzer; two great-nieces; and one great-nephew. Pete will be fondly remembered and respected by many individuals he met in the field of construction, forming lasting friendships over the years. Calling hours will be held on Saturday, February 15, from 2:00 to 3:00 PM, followed by a brief prayer service at 3:00 PM at Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St., Westfield, MA. A private burial will take place this spring at Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, NY.
