Raymond P. Manos, 68, of Westfield, Massachusetts, passed away Thursday, January 22nd, 2026 at home.
Born and raised in Westfield, Ray served with the Westfield Police Department from 1985 until his retirement in 2012, where he was instrumental in establishing the department’s community policing efforts and rose through the ranks to become a Detective Sergeant. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Westfield State University. After retiring from law enforcement, Raymond worked at Savage Arms from 2014 to 2020.
Ray was a proud member of the Elks Lodge, where he could be found enjoying a drink with friends. He also had a love for blues and roots music and cooking. He often enjoyed making chili, grilling, and savoring the occasional whiskey or tequila.
Ray was the son of the late John Manos and Therese (West) Mediera and step son to Francis Madiera. He was also predeceased by his wife, Ramona (McManus) Manos, and his brother-in-law, Nicholas Guletsky.
Ray is survived by his daughters, Erica Manos-Sharpe and her spouse Elizabeth, and Jessica Manos and her spouse Kyle Dalrymple. He also leaves behind his stepdaughters, Charlie McManus-Townsley and her spouse Michael, and Joey Pesce. He was a loving grandfather to Alesio Rivera, Mia Rivera, Antonio Rivera, Angelo Rivera, and Elsie Townsley. He is also survived by his siblings, Deborah Manos-Guletsky, John Manos and his spouse Denise, Jeanne Manos, and Terry Manos and his spouse Maureen.
The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the D’Amour Center for Cancer Care and the wonderful caregivers at Baystate Hospice for their kindness and support.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 1st, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Firtion Adams Funeral Home in Westfield.
