Richard F. Beasley passed on to eternal life on Saturday May 15,2021. The son of Fredrick and Ruby Beasley nee Matchett, Richard was raised in West Springfield, where he had nothing but happy memories of his childhood. He loved the people in his community and made many cherished friends. As a West Springfield High School Class of 1951 graduate, Richard proudly served in the United States Air Force. In 1956, he married Jean Beasley nee Morey and was happily married for over 64 years. Family was very important to Richard and he was an excellent teacher; especially when it came to teaching his grandchildren to drive. He was very involved in his church and encouraged his family to do the same. Richard enjoyed a good road trip, was a professional truck driver and member of the Local 404 Teamsters Union. Richard enjoyed animals and had a number of well trained german shorthair pointers. On sunny days he could always be found in the vegetable garden working away. Richard leaves his beloved wife Jean, his three sisters Beryl, Shirley, June and brother-in-law Andy. He also leaves behind his daughter Carol, son Fredrick, their spouses, his grandchildren, great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Richard was kind, generous, and always put his family and friends first. He will be deeply missed. Special thanks to his niece Gina and her husband David Ianacone for helping ensure excellent care in the recent months. All services will be held on Tuesday May 18th at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 60 Broad Street, Westfield MA 01085. Calling hours will be at 9:00am to 10:25am.
