Richard Garcia Obituary

Richard Garcia, 87, passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center. He was born in Westfield to the late Joseph and Anne (Carasco) Garcia. Richard was employed as a Fire Fighter for the City of Westfield for over 20 years. He served his country during Korea in the United States Army from 1953-1955 and received the Korean Service Medal, United Nations Service Medal and National Defense Service Medal. He enjoyed repairing and fixing antique furniture and going to tag sales with his wife Martha. Richard was a devoted husband to his late wife, Martha (Sullivan) Garcia and loving father to Mart, Noreen his caretaker, Leigh and Brenda and their families, a brother Joe, and a sister Mary Ann. He was predeceased by a brother Robert. At Richard’s request all service are private and he was layed to rest with his beloved wife in St. Mary’s Cemetery. www.firtionadams.com
