Robert Stefano Obituary

Robert Stefano, 87, passed away on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at Baystate Medical Center surrounded by loved ones. He was born in Springfield to the late Albert and Louise (Tomei) Stefano. Robert served his country in the United States Air Force Air Guard 104th Division from 1961-1962 and was activated to Phalsbourg, France under the directive of President Kennedy. After his service, he worked as a tool designer for Hamilton Standard and then became a self-employed contractor for many years.

Robert was an avid Cape Cod fisherman aboard his beloved boat, the Mandy Ann, fishing out of Chatham, Harwich, Barnstable Harbor, and Pamet Harbor. He was also an original member of The Rattletones band and played with many big-named  artists during the 50’s.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Mary D. (Filipiak) Stefano of Westfield, his loving children, Brian R. Stefano and his wife Jennie of Westfield, Brenda S. Ramírez and her husband  José of Providence, R.I., and Merideth A. Stefano of Westfield and her partner Daniel Hogan, and his cherished grandchildren, Brittany, Lindsay, Oriana and Harrison, and  his great-granddaughter, Eleanor.

All services for Robert will be private, and he will be buried with Military Honors at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrier Project or Tunnel to Towers Foundation in Robert’s memory.  Arrangements are under the direction of the Firtion Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad St. Westfield, MA 01085. www.firtionadams.com
