Ruth Mildred (Hannum) Hannum

Ruth M. Hannum, 87, passed away on November 4, 2020 at Poet’s Seat Healthcare in Greenfield. She was born in Westfield, MA to the late Edwin and Mildred (Putnam) Hannum and was a 1951 graduate of Westfield High School. Ruth was also a graduate of Westfield State in 1956 and Wesleyan University in 1966 with a Master’s Degree in Math. She was a teacher for Westfield Schools for 31 years, retiring in 1988. She also taught for the United States Army for a years in Germany and for the Southwick Schools for eight years. Ruth loved to travel all over the world, including China and Russia. She was an avid golfer, being a member of Blandford Country Club, and enjoyed bowling, reading, playing cards and helping her many friends. Ruth was an active member of the First Congregational Church, serving as a past Treasurer, a member of the Westfield Historical Society, and Hampden West Chapter of REAM and treasurer.
