Sharon L. (Hibert) Gustafson

Sharon L. (Hibert) Gustafson, 77, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020.  She was born in Westfield to the late Edward J. and Dolores L. (Bargeron) Hibert. Sharon was a 1960 graduate of Westfield High School, a 1963 graduate of Providence Nursing College and began employment as a Registered Nurse at Noble Hospital. She retired as the Westfield High School Nurse after 30 years of employment. Sharon's love for music and stage was rooted deeply in her life as she was a longtime member of the Westfield City Band, St. Mary’s Church choir (1970’s -'90’s) and was instrumental in managing all of the stage performances at Westfield High School during her tenure there. Sharon loved traveling with her best friend, Donna Cook Herman (Australia).  She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Donald R. Gustafson on October 11, 2007, and her brother, James E. Hibert (2017). She is survived by her five children, Kenneth D. Gustafson and his wife Christine of Westfield, Jennipher A. McCabe and her husband Michael of Westfield, Alison D. Gustafson of Westfield, Daniel S. Gustafson and his wife Terri of Westfield and Ann L. Pritchard and her husband William of Russell. Additionally, Sharon is survived by her sister, Kathleen Palmer, thirteen grandchildren and former daughter in law, Laura Gustafson. All services are private and burial will be with her husband in the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Agawam.  There will be a celebration of Sharon’s life at a later date.  Donations can be made in lieu of flowers to the WHS BOP.  The family would like to acknowledge Armbrook’s staff and Compass Unit for their outstanding care for Sharon over the past 5 years family and friends of Sharon are respectively invited to attend a celebration of her life memorial service.
