Sylvia A. “Dede” (Grimbilas) Perretta, 85, passed away at home on Tuesday, March 10, 2020. She was born in New York City, NY to the late Peter J. and Alice M. (Undzis) Grimbilas and attended New York Schools. She was employed by the Brockton School Department as a kitchen manager for over 25 years and retired in 2000. Sylvia enjoyed knitting and crocheting afghans and blankets, she donated them to the Palliative Care at Baystate Medical Center and the Cancer Center at Mercy Hospital and also enjoyed cooking. Sadly, Sylvia was predeceased by her husband Carmine R. Perretta in 1997, her son Carmine A. Perretta in 1991 and a sister Lois Kielczewski Hayden in 2008. She is survived by her loving daughter, Maria P. Hermanson and her husband Fred, with whom she lived, her sisters, Vera Fox and her husband Donald of Florida and Cape Cod, Andrea Sims and her husband Paul of Richmond, VA and Michele Mangiaratti and her husband John of Midlothian, VA and several nieces and nephews, especially Stephen and Michael Kielczewski. Visiting hours for Sylvia will be held on Sunday from 2-4PM in the Firtion Adams FS, 76 Broad St. Westfield, with a Celebration of Life Service at 5PM in the Word of Grace Church, 848 North Rd.
