Thomas J. Ré, late of Granville Massachusetts passed away on December 5, 2020. Ever kind and generous, he will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He was born and raised on Park Avenue in Manhattan, the son of the Consul General of the Republic of San Marino, the late Honorable Sir Charles J. Ré, a Knight Officer of Italy’s Order of Merit and a Knight of the Military Order of Malta. Tom attended St. David’s School and Loyola School in Manhattan and Georgetown University in DC. He had lived in Granville since 1994.
Tom spent considerable time over the past thirty years as a volunteer and financial contributor to numerous charities. He was also involved in forest stewardship, and was an avid gardener and hiker on his beloved property, Copper Beech Farm, before being debilitated by Parkinson's disease.
Tom is survived by his brothers Charles (Chip) Ré of Greenwich Connecticut and Alan Ré of Bronxville New York, and by his cousin and business partner John Lawrence Ré of Granville. He also leaves cousins in Nantucket, Bar Harbor ME, Cape Elizabeth ME, Amesbury MA, Guilford CT and Virginia Beach.
