Viola “Carol” (Chenier) Heath passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Sunday December 8, 2024 feast of Immaculate Conception day at East Longmeadow Skilled Nursing Center. She was born on December 6, 1937 St. Nicholas day in Russell to the late Edward J. and Viola M. (Brisson) Chenier. She attended St. Mary’s High School. She was a longtime florist, former owner of Craighurst Gardens and Colonial Bouquet Flower shop in Russell and also worked at Longmeadow’s Flowers and Gail’s flower shop, Suffield. Carol retired from Webster’s Flowers in 1992. She was a skilled cake decorator, painter and gardener. Carol was a woman of devout faith as a longtime parishioner of St. Mary’s Parish in Westfield. At 78 years old Carol wrote a spiritual book called “Life’s Garden” sharing her life journey of faith. She is predeceased by her siblings George Chenier, Leonard Chenier, Leon Chenier, Victor Chenier, Henrietta Jasmin and Verma Lannon. She leaves behind her beloved daughter Deborah Dougherty and husband Charles of Feeding Hills and grandson Adam Dougherty the light of her life of Feeding Hills. She also leaves her adopted grandchildren Nicholas Allen and Katelynn Halloran and adopted great-grandchildren Mason and Everly Halloran. Carol’s Liturgy of Christian Burial will be on Saturday at 11:30 AM in St. Mary’s Church, Westfield. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Westfield. Her calling hours will precede the service from 9-11 AM in Firtion-Adams Funeral Service, 76 Broad Street, Westfield. Donations in her name made me made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
