Wanda M. (Kuta) Brennan

Wanda M. (Kuta) Brennan, 94, passed away peacefully on April 21, 2022 at Baystate Noble Hospital just 6 days shy of her 95th birthday.  She was born in Westfield, MA to the late Andrew and Victoria (Czop) Kuta.  Wanda was a graduate of Providence Hospital School of Nursing and was employed as a registered nurse for over thirty years, beginning her career at Noble Hospital and ending at Western Mass Hospital.  Wanda was a longtime communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Westfield, where she was an active member of the parish, volunteering for various committees.  She was a past president of the Confraternity, and was a member of the St Vincent de Paul Society.  She was a past recipient of the St. Pius medal. She was a member of and past President of the Westfield Nurses Association, working tirelessly on various fund raisers as well as the Noble Hospital Ball Committee.  She talked often about her high school summers spent with her sister in Buzzard’s Bay.  She enjoyed traveling especially her trips to Ireland and Italy.  She was happiest spending time with her family, and cherished the time spent with her good friends.  She always said “I am a very lucky woman.” Wanda was predeceased by her husband Patrick P. Brennan in 1991 and is survived by two loving daughters, Martha E. Murphy and son-in-law Jim of Westfield and Lyn L. Blake and her husband Nigel of Ludlow.  Five cherished grandchildren, Kaitlin V. Murphy and her husband Andrew Riedl of Melrose, MA, Brenna C. Cortez and her husband Jose of Salem, MA, Andrew P. Blake with Kye Poronsky of South Hadley, Collin A. Blake with Courtney Murphy of South Hadley and Terrance I. Blake of Kaycee, Wyoming, and her adored great Grandson John James Riedl who brought much joy to his Gigi. A mass celebrating Wanda’s life will be held on Friday April 29th at 10:30 AM at St. Mary’s Church Westfield, MA with burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery immediately following.  There will be no calling hours.  Donations in Wanda’s name may be directed to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 30 Bartlett St. Westfield, MA 01085 or Shriners Hospital Donations Dept. 516 Carew Street Springfield, MA 01040.
