William H Gendron

William Henry (Bill) Gendron, 95, of Springfield, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on September 1, 2025, at Renaissance Manor Hospice. Born June 20, 1930, in North Adams, Massachusetts, he was the son of the late Raymond Gendron and Irene (Batiste) Gendron. Bill was the beloved husband of 60 years to the late Georgiana Gendron, who predeceased him in 2018. A proud veteran, Bill honorably served his country in the United States Army as a member of the Eighth Army during the Korean conflict. He was a graduate of Pittsfield High School and went work in the insurance industry, working for the Insurance Company of North America, Great Oak Insurance, and Monarch Insurance before retiring. Never one to stay idle, Bill later became one of the first employees of Courier Express, where he worked following his retirement. A faithful communicant of Holy Name Church in Springfield, Bill was known for his devotion to family and community. He was a passionate fan of the New York Yankees and the New York Giants, and he especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and lending a hand to anyone in need. In addition to his wife and parents, Bill was predeceased by his dear brother, Raymond Gendron. He is survived by his sons, William Mark Gendron and his wife Natalie of Southwick, and John Raymond Gendron and his wife Kimberly of Bradenton, Florida; five cherished grandchildren, Sarah, Matthew, Stephanie, Ryan, and Nathan; one great-grandchild, Zane Johnson; and many beloved nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to calling hours on [Friday], September [5th], from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Firtion Adams Funeral Home in Westfield. A funeral service will follow at noon, with ceremony and interment at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
